We officially have a crawler. She isn't very fast yet, but can get wherever she wants. My life is completely changing. I leave a room, or turn my back, and seconds later she has moved. I have to remember to put things up or she'll grab them. Here are a few pictures I've taken this week of her on the move!
She is very flexible. She will lay down like this and suck on her toes, or just lay there for a few seconds.
The other night she pulled herself up on my jeans, and then walked her way up to me. It was pretty cute.
She got so frustrated because she worked her way under the exersaucer but couldn't sit up! Mom, help!!

trouble
I was surprised when I went to get her from her second nap yesterday, and found this! Just in this past week she has started pulling herself up on EVERYTHING!! upturned bins, diaper caddie, the stool, furniture, you name it. She has slowly started to put the crawling motion together, but takes it very slowly with lots of sitting breaks. We use our car keys as bribery :)!

My grandparents were very generous and gave me their serger and table. I haven't put the serger to use yet, but I am sewing! Thank you so much!

baby shower
This past weekend my mom hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law who is expecting in a month. It is always fun to have an excuse to get family together! My mom made a beautiful quilt: (I stole the pics from my mom :) ) Crystal and Justin are having a baby boy, so Abigail is going to be outnumbered.
I put myself in charge of dessert, and made some yummy monkey cupcakes with help from my sister. Some looked better than others, but they all tasted great!!

I love this picture of my grandpa with Abigail. She was kind enough to sit still for a moment, so he cold hold her!
And just for fun, here is a picture of mommy & daughter. We have our moments, but we enjoy our time together!

eight months
Every time Abigail gets a month older, I am amazed at how quickly time has gone. I was talking to my relief society president, and we agreed that sometimes days drag on but the months and years go by too fast. We are really enjoying the nice weather, taking every opportunity we can to get outside. Last week we played with the neighbor kids for over an hour, and she was in HEAVEN!! here are a few tidbits of Abigail at eight months:
she:
-is still wearing mostly 3-6 months clothes, and will be until she's nine months old. She if very particular about how much she eats, how she wants to eat, and when she wants to eat. She lets me know :)
-doesn't like playing in her exersaucer, but pulling herself up on it and playing.
-doesn't crawl, but can manage to scoot while sitting. she rolls around like crazy and loves to climb.
-especially loves climbing people, and holding on to my hair. That's her favorite way to cuddle when she's tired; she buries her head in my neck and holds on tight to my hair.
-loves drinking water from a sippy cup, without the valve thing, or a regular cup
-throws "tantrums" when she gets put down when she wants to be held, or when I try to leave her to play by herself
-curls her toes, and walks like a ballerina
-loves pulling her own hair and playing with her ears
-can trill and click her tongue (mimicking what we do) and claps her hands
-will turn her head to the right and hold it for a few seconds, not sure why
-doesn't not sleep through the night, and wakes up about 5 a.m., ready to go. it takes me about another half hour to be awake enough to want to get out of bed!
-talks like crazy, and had this fun Tarzan noise she makes (trying to get that on video)
And here are a few photos!
this picture made me laugh. I was taking a bunch of pictures, and was able to capture this one.

Bath time at grandma and grandpa's house! I'm excited to see what she'll do in a swimming pool this summer.

just life
Here are a few random pictures that haven't found their way into a post yet. We realized not long after she was born that we had no stuffed animals for her, so Joe found this giraffe on Amazon.
Our little girl absolutely LOVES the mirror. I'll sit her down in front of it, and she'll give herself bonks, make funny faces, slap the mirror, and try to talk to her reflection. It always makes her happy!
I think I'm finally finished with her room. For the moment, anyway. The flower I got from Sugar and Spice, and the frames I painted.
My mom helped me make the wall hangings. Isn't she amazing?? It was fun to have a project to do, and I appreciate them more because we made them. Took a little bit longer than I thought, but Abigail wasn't very cooperative. Oh well!
