Feed the Ducks

Last week I took the kids to First Dam for a picnic and to feed the ducks.  They quickly ran to the water, and shredded the hot dog buns and threw them out for the ducks.  Grayson kept calling "here you go, friends"  The kids were in heaven!   Those ducks are not shy either, they'd come up within a foot or two.  Some of the ones on the grass started walking toward the kids, thinking they had food. Fun times!

The kids have LOVED helping plant our garden - the one at our home, and the one in Smithfield.  Abigail got so excited that the peas are coming on that she pretty much told the whole neighborhood.

The kids have been in the mood to play games lately - Zingo, and memory being their favorite!  I love that Lily is old enough to understand, and join in on the fun!

Grayson graduates!

At the end of the May Grayson graduated from his first year of preschool.  He LOVED preschool.  We had tried Joyschool but he struggled, and struggled with it. He never wanted to go, and sat in the car and cried.  We found Mrs. Hamilton, and he walked right in the first time and told me I could go. Ha!  He has come so far - he can write his name, and knows all the sounds the letters say.  So proud!

We love our little Lily, who isn't so little anymore.  A few mile stones for her include staying in her bed ALL NIGHT!!! She always got up and climbed into bed. And stayed. And petted me.  So I decided I'd had enough, and we've been giving her a blanket to go to bed and trying our best to put her back when she wakes up. Last night she slept the WHOLE night in her bed, and didn't come out until after 7.  She still has speech problem - it is pretty difficult to understand what she's saying, but it's getting clearer. She is STUBBORN! If she wants it, she wants it.  If she thinks its hers, you can't have it.  She's SWEET.  The other day Grayson said he wasn't feeling well so Lily gave him a hug and a kiss. She still loves me the most, but isn't quite so clingy anymore. 

Happy Birthday Bug!!

Can't believe my little girl turned 3 at the end of May!  We prepped her before hand, and that whole week she was telling everyone it was her "birfday" and she was going to be "free"!

We have had a sickness that has fluctuated a lot over the past few weeks. Lily and Grayson have been stuffy, goopy, and have had a bad cough at night.  Abigail has had a fever. The result - lots of sleepless nights, and lots of day time naps.
