Feeding the baby

Nursing has gone really well with Cassidy - no problems once my milk came in. My kids are FASCINATED by it.  I feel like they have a radar, the know exactly when I'm feeding her and have to come watch.  And they know too much. They'll ask if I've fed her from both sides yet, if she's burped, if she's still hungry. These kids make me laugh.  This particular day they decided they all needed to feed their babies.

First Sunday

On the 13th I decided it was time to go back to church, and the kids were SUPER excited! Lily had a hard time when I left sacrament to feed Cassidy - apparently she screamed.  Lots of comments on our cute little lady!

Cassidy

This girl's belly button just will not heal - her cord fell off at about 2 weeks, and it just oozes and oozes. I emailed her doctor and he said it should eventually heal, but to watch for redness, swelling and fever.

The hair - we love Miss Cassidy's hair!  It was such a surprise that it was blonde, but like Lily's it has a mind of it's own! Abigail kept asking why I didn't comb it down, but I showed her that even if I did it just dried and stood straight up!

cache county fair

Our first family outing - we went to the Cache County fair in the morning.  The first thing the kids said - it's so stinky!  Ha!  The enjoyed looking at the animals, and riding the ponies.

story time

The kids are quick to "help" keep Cassidy happy - sometimes a little too much. This time I suggested they read a story to her, which they loved!

high-5!

Checking the world out!

A spell

"Mom, when I turn 12 I want a Harry Potter wand so I can cast a spell so I don't have to grow up!"

This girl cracks me up!  She doesn't like it when I talk about her growing up, and moving out of the house. She is adamant that she won't every want to. First grade has been quite the adjustment, she doesn't like leaving me. Poor girl!

Salsa time!!

Our garden did pretty well at our house - the tomatoes LOVE that south side, and we got quite a bit off.  The kids were very helpful, and Abigail used the food chopper to chop up everything for the salsa. Then we all ate it! I was excited that the kids actually liked it this year.

Aunt Trina

On the 31st of July we got a special visitor - my Aunt Trina decided to come up and we were so happy to have her!  She is the best - a baby whisperer (Cassidy loved sleeping in her arms), and a playmate for my older kids. They were very sad when it was time for her to drive home.

two weeks

Time flies!  Our teeny girl is 2 weeks old, and at her appointment weighed 7.5 lbs. She's eating well, and learning to sleep better!  She often gags/chokes on milk which causes her to scream. I tilted her little pack and play up, and she will sleep longer in her swing. When she is awake and happy, she loves looking around and the kids think it's funny how she moves her arms.
