March - leardship award

Abigail came home VERY excited at the beginning of March.  She had won the principal's award for leadership - she says she is always looking out for other people (holding doors, helping them to the office if they get hurt) and every month they draw a winner and she got it!  Abigail loves school, and this was icing on the cake.  She told a neighbor that "her mom would be so happy because she got a coupon for free pizza, so she wouldn't have to make dinner!" Ha - she knows me so well!

This kid thinks bananas are gross (except in smoothies and muffins) but will eat a lot of raw onions.  Silly boy!

SNOW!

We got a bunch of snow overnight so I decided to take the kids (Joe stayed home with Cassidy) sledding. It was fun, but it was also hard because it was all fresh and there weren't any good paths made.  We would make a path, but the kids would end up with a face full of snow and would get VERY upset. But overall very fun!

Cassidy is a "medium" cuddler - she will cuddle if she's tired or not feeling well, otherwise she wants to move and see out! She tends to rub her her face in my neck if she's tired or not feeling well.

Aladdin

We watched Aladdin one afternoon and a few days later Grayson decided to draw them. We were very impressed with his memory - the patch on Aladdin's pants and Abu's hat.

She is pretty good about sitting up, but we surround her with pillows because she often falls down.This particular time she managed to twist around before she fell - it looks so awkward to me but she sat there for a couple of minutes.

noodles & co

I messed up dinner one night and we decided to head out and try noodles & co. Grayson wasn't as impressed with their spaghetti, said mine was better but the girl's liked their mac & cheese!  Cassidy liked her toy, and does so well just sitting in her car set looking around!

Lily's style

This girl's style!  She LOVES her snowboots and wears them everywhere, and this particular day she settled on leggings underneath her shorts!

Grayson

"My family has me, Abiail, Lily, Mom and Dad and my family's ipad"  (He said he didn't write Cassidy because he didn't know how to spell her name!) He also loves to build with Jenga pieces

Grandpa Haller

January 8th my Mom called and said it looked like Grandpa Haller would pass away soon.  He had got pneumonia and it got into his lungs and his body was done. I was really sad - you always think you'll have more time than you do. We loaded the kids up to say goodbye and headed down. They had given him morphine to ease the pain so he was pretty comatose, but he could still hear. It was nice to talk with my mom and learn more about him and be able to say goodbye. My mom called on the drive home to say that he has passed away, shortly after my Aunt had arrived from Arizona.  Family came in to town,and it was nice to visit.  He had a short viewing followed by a graveside service and we couldn't have asked for a better day - it wasn't too bitterly cold. My mom said some really nice words, and recalled some things I had forgotten. They played taps, which always makes me cry, and we said our goodbyes. He's with his sweetheart again.
