Birthday boy

Grayson was VERY excited to have a birthday party this year. At first it was going to be all boys, but then he changed his mind!  I was surprised when all the kids enjoyed the games, and wanted to keep playing. Such a fun day for our boy!

We started out with pin the head on the Lego-man, which was pretty funny. For some reason both my girls went to the wall instead of the door!

We had a relay race - you had to put on a glove and pick up and carry a Lego to a cup across the room

Presents - I think the kids giving them were as excited as Grayson!  The biggest problem was they all wanted him to play with theirs!

His Lego cake :) The frosting was a bit of a fail, but he still liked it and all the kids came back for seconds!

big girl!!

We have been begging Lily for months to use the potty, but we were met with either screams, her saying "tomorrow", or "I do it Thursday", or "I HATE POTTIES!". I told her that once she turned 4 that we couldn't do diapers anymore, and she couldn't play outside until she wore underwear. So one day (the day before our trip) she decided to wear "underwears". The first day was iffy, just because we were getting ready for vacation. She wore diapers on vacation, then came home and declared she was ready for underwear!  Just like that - it was done. She has had hardly any accidents, she tells you when she needs to go and for the most part can take care of everything herself.  I have been immensely enjoying my time with no diaper changing, since I'll start the whole thing again in July!

Legoland

The next day we were up and ready to go for our last big adventure - Legoland!  The kids haven't really been to an amusement park before, so they were super excited!  The second ride had a bit of a drop and we got pretty wet, poor Lily didn't like it and refused to go on it again.

The Star Wars exhibit was a big hit - Grayson especially enjoyed naming every character, and loved the scenes they'd built out.

We rode a bunch of other rides - and the kids have fun. Waiting in line was hard, and by the end were were done. We packed up a bit early and headed back to the beach. We found a little bay where the kids could play without getting toppled by waves and played there for about 4 hours. A perfect ending to our trip!

We through our alignment off on the way home - poor Joe drove the whole thing and his poor arms were a bit sore from holding the wheel!  Turns out we made a mess of the wheels, and had to pay for brand new wheels when we got back. 

Sea World

The next morning we woke up and headed to get our oil changed (it dropped really fast on the way down, and we were left at 10%). It took the perfect amount of time because we got to Sea World a few minutes before all the attractions opened up.  Joe and I were super excited about Sea World - our kids have been obsessed with underwater creatures forever!

The kids started off right in the touching pools, and Abigail and Lily enjoyed touching the rays. Grayson not so much.

The kids were VERY excited to see the sea turtles, it was probably one of the things they were most excited about.

 

SUNSHINE!! It was very warm while we were waiting for the dolphin show to start - Abigail kept saying how HOT she was.  80 degrees feels pretty warm when you're used to 50 degrees!

Grayson's favorite animal - the Orca.  They are re-vamping the bigger stage, so their show was a bit smaller and hard to see. But pretty cool!

We enjoyed a few rides before we ended our day with swimming in the hotel pool and crashing by 9.
