Mary Poppins

My parents told me Mary Poppins was at their hometown theater, Joe and I decided to take our kids. I was a bit worried because it is long - nearly 2.5 hours but the kids did great!  Abigail was especially in love, and knows the songs so she sang right along. We waited outside and got to meet Mary Poppins, who was so nice to the kids and talked with them for a second.

This little girl LOVES music! She generally always practices when I ask, and loves to go back and play old songs. This day she did extra theory pages, and decided to write her own music. She actually wrote the treble and bass clefs herself, and wrote out her notes!

St. Patrick's day

I wasn't quite ready for this holiday - so we didn't do much to celebrate! I did figure out how to put a clover in Abigail's hair, and Lily enjoyed wearing a ninja turtle shirt!

BTW - I discovered I really enjoy Fage "flips" - coconut yogurt with dark chocolate chips. The kids discovered they like it too!

Registered!

Grayson was VERY excited when we took him to register for kindergarten. He has been anxiously waiting to go, and asked if that meant he started the next day. Poor guy was a bit sad when he realized he had to wait until after summer.

This kid is super smart! He knows all the letters, the sounds that they make, and has started reading.  He is very good about sounding words out! He can count to 100, write his name, and does some simple math.  He is ready!

Joe had a weekend training for Scouts in Ogden, so we ditched school on Friday to head to my parents for some fun!  The weather was perfect for playing outside, I got to see my Grandpa who wasn't doing well, and Grandpa got to read them a bedtime story!  My kids were in heaven!

My parents have had this shopping cart FOREVER - I'm pretty sure it was a gift to me when I was younger. My kids always fight over who gets to play with it, but this time the girls were sharing and pushing their babies together!

 Because who doesn't watch TV this way?

Saturday morning we went to a park right by the mountains, and the kids had blast - their cousins came too! They really enjoyed hiking along this path, until Abigail said she had to use the bathroom!

That first week we had great weather we were outside every day, for as long as we could be.  I think poor Lily got a bit worn out because when we were reading a book she fell asleep!

Grayson wanted to show that he wasn't asleep!  He is such a good buddy - he generally is pretty happy, and loves to play whatever everyone else is. He will play with barbies, and legoes, and loves to have friends come over!

I had my 20 week ultrasound appointment, and the kids were VERY excited to come with me and see their little sister.  Baby girl looks pretty good!  Her cord is only a 2-vessel cord, which doesn't mean much most of the time but their is a slight chance it could affect her growth later so I will get another ultrasound at 32 weeks. My placenta is also in the front this time, which makes it a little harder to feel movement. But lately I can't imagine feeling less movement! She is often quiet during the day, a few movements here and there. At night time she comes alive - all sorts of tumbling and punching in there!  And every morning at around 2 she's at it again!  Hopefully we can break that habit once she comes.

OUTSIDE!!

Oh we have been enjoying the sunny days that come our way!  We spent about 4 hours outside one afternoon. The kids all enjoy riding their bikes, drawing with chalk, and making pixie dust by rubbing chalk together!

We were taking birthday cards over to a neighbor for her birthday, and the kids got to color a picture and sign their name.  I was pretty impressed to see Lily try to write hers!  She still REFUSES to be potty trained so she hasn't been sent to preschool yet, but at speech they try to get her to write her own name. Smart girl! She also loves to trace her hands, and put the fingernails and knuckles on there. I'm pretty impressed - apparently Joe showed her once how to do it, and she keeps repeating it!

February life

The kids have started to be a little bit more adventurous in their eating habits!  Recently Abigail discovered she likes fish - particularly Salmon.  Joe made some that even I had second helpings with, but Abigail kept going back for more and more!  She also LOVES asparagus, and just the other day she convinced the other two to try it.  I had to laugh when they exclaimed "oh, yum, this is so good!" 

 Naps don't come easy for this little one! I often let her watch her "letters", aka Letter Factory, while I teach piano and often times she ends up falling asleep. But she is learning them, and especially loves the letter L since that's what is in her name!

 Had some friends over to watch Moana - it was pretty fun!

 While I was teaching piano I noticed it was super quiet in my house.  That usually means this one has found something she shouldn't.  But she was sitting on the table, just cutting some paper. She'll cut once, move over about an inch and then do it all the way around the paper.

 Dress up time! My kids LOVE to use their imaginations, and play whatever they are in the mood for. This particular day we had just watched Tinkerbell - Pirate Fairy, and Abigail wanted to dress up as Zarina.
