Grayson is pretty mild, although you know he's upset when he starts stomping his foot! He loves staying at home, and oftentimes doesn't even want to go outside.  He often says "it's just fine" when we ask him to do something.  He REFUSES to be potty trained, and gets upset if you even mention the potty. He has a great imagination, and loves playing pretend. He has a soft heart, and is kind to Lily when Abigail is being mean.

nursemaid's elbow

Once upon a time there was a little boy who got into trouble, but didn't want to go to time out.  His mom pulled hard on his arm to get him to stand and put him in time out. The little boy cried a lot, and wouldn't move his arm.  He kept crying and crying until his mom took him to Instacare where they determined he had nursemaid's elbow (the bone slid out of the joint).  They did a painful lift and twist, and he was back to new!  And the mom felt horrible. Really horrible.  The end.

I was able to take pics of us which distracted him.  I really feel so bad, but the Doctor was very kind and said they see these a lot. 

snow day in April

Right in the middle of April we got a random snow storm, and it dumped snow.  The kids were VERY excited to go out and play.  We didn't get to play much this winter, so we were glad we got to get one good playtime in!  Lily loved eating the snow, and Grayson and Abigail enjoyed having a snowball fight!

WORMS!!

Abigail is VERY fond of worms.  She loves to hold them in her hand, and make them a special little home.  One day after it had rained the birds were eating worms which made her upset. So she went to get a carrot for the bird instead, and we told her birds don't eat carrots.  Then she said, yes they do. watch this "once upon a time there was a bird who ate a carrot". Joe and I busted up laughing, this girl and her imagination!

after an hour and a half of weeding, it was clear. Then it snowed. And they are all back!

Animal Days

Waaaay back in April, we went to Animal Days at the Heritage Center.  The kids loved the train ride, and petting the animals. The bunnies didn't make an appearance due to their aggressive behavior last year! Lily is the bravest of the three kids, willing to pet every animal.

Happy Easter!

Easter was awesome this year!  We were down for Conference weekend too, and had a great time.  We enjoyed getting books with Grandma Van Ausdal, and her night time egg hunt.  We had a surprise for the kids in the morning (which they totally ran by at first), and then just enjoyed the day with family!

It doesn't get much better than this!  Abigail has a great memory, and can "read" most of the Elephant & Piggie books that we have, which are some of Lily's favorites. Our favorite books right now are:

Oona

We decided one night (well, I did) that for Easter we would give the kids a fish.  They love Mermaids, and fish so I thought they'd like something to take care of.  I do most of it, but they still enjoy feeding Oona and watching him.  Abigail often asks "Mom, what's Oona doing?  Why does he do that?  How come he's not eating?"  I just reply I don't know :) 

btw ... Oona comes from Sophia the First, a Disney Jr show that the kids love!

off to Boise we went

Yep, still in March.  Joe's cousin got married, and so we headed up to Boise to celebrate.  I was a bit worried about the trip, but the kids did pretty good.  Thanks to entertainment bags, and a portable DVD player!
