Christmas Time

We sure had a wonderful Christmas! My brother & his wife were kind enough to let us stay out their house. We really enjoyed their company, and playing Connect with them. It made for some great amusement!

Right as we were packing up to head down Abigail fell asleep. It was so cute!

Christmas day was spent at my brother's house and for much of the evening (well, it seemed like quite a while to me) was spent bouncing her. She isn't the best traveler, and night time is hard. She usually is really tired, but won't let me put her down and she screams quite a bit. I shut her in our room for a little while because she wouldn't calm down. Oh well.

She loves it when I touch her toes to her face, and I'm sure soon enough she'll be able to find her feet on her own!

A shot of the grandparents with their new grandbabies. Her cousin definitely has her beat on weight. He is such a cute chunk!

Holding hands with her cousin! He was falling asleep, and she grabbed his hand and held on for a few seconds!

Grandma & Grandpa Van Ausdal gave her some toys to play with, and we pulled out the keys last night. She loved the music that they played, and tried to grab on.

We really had a wonderful Christmas - and people were so generous! I really enjoyed being with family, and just the atmosphere of Christmas. It was really wonderful having my grandparents come down, they're usually in St. George for the winter. Family is wonderful, and we're looking forward to spending more time with them.

Happy Holidays

Dear friends & family,

My parents were slackers in getting Christmas cards out, but we hope your holidays are as jolly as I am!

Love,
Abigail

Seriously - we hope everyone has a fantastic holiday, and safe travels!

Getting Big!

I can resist posting some pictures I've taken of Abigail lately. This week it's like she's become a different baby. She eats better, sleeps better, and doesn't cry much. So nice! It's fun when she is awake, because she loves looking around and seems curious about everything. I wish that we could know what they are thinking, and what they see!

I really should have called this post "Heart Attack Joe" because lately Joe has been doing things that scare me a little. He loves to balance Abigail in his hand. She loves it too; it seems I'm the only one that suffers from anxiety!

I had just gotten used to Joe balancing her bum in his hand when he switched to doing feet as well. I was/am REALLY not happy about it, but he does it anyway. Luckily he hasn't dropped her, and I hope he never will!

She loves sticking out her tongue, and sucking on her hands. I love how big & blue her eyes are!

I guess I should start strapping her in the chair, she scoots in her sleep sometimes and will end up at the bottom of the chair.

This is her fighting off sleep. During the day she will fuss to let me know when she's tired, and I'll put her in the chair. Give her a couple of moments to wiggle and soon she will be asleep!

splash face

First - here is a cute picture of her in a hat that a friend made for me. She's getting so big! I can't believe that two months have gone by since we've had her. Some days it seems like forever, but it hasn't been that long. She is definitely an opinionated baby who like she voice her opinion, mostly by screaming & crying. Hopefully that stage will pass - it is already better than it used to be.
We LOVE bath time. She loves kicking in the bath, and really doesn't care for getting out. We set the tub on our counter in the bathroom, and water gets everywhere from all her splashing. Guess we may be moving her to the bathtub soon!

Joe tried to capture the look on her face when she splashes. She has this look that she only does when she's splashing - she's mostly excited, and having fun! I love giving her a bath, mostly because she's always happy!

Blessing Day

What a wonderful day we had yesterday, with blessing Abigail. It was fun to have both our families up, although it was a tight fit in our little place! I'm glad we were able to get most everyone up here. Here is my mom with Abigail, in the blessing dress she made for her. I really have a very amazing, talented mother. Thanks mom!

Our little family! I'm really grateful to Joe who was able to bless her, and VERY grateful she didn't cry. She was wailing right before we went to church, but she fell asleep on the way over.

We are very excited for the holidays - we enjoy listening to Christmas music and looking at the lights on our little trees. I'm not even minding the snow! (Ask me again in January/February and my answer will probably be different!) We hope everyone is having a wonderful season!

Thanksgiving

Here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving, taken at my parents house. Photos courtesy of my brother Brian!Abigail and her cousin, who was born about four weeks after her. They're about the same size ... I promise I do feed her! He is such a mellow, calm baby compared to Abigail.

Four generations! I'm so glad that I got this taken. Just ignore my smile ... I had been making faces up until he snapped the photo. Guess that's what I get for trying to be funny!

Grandparents with their new grand babies! They sure do love them, and spoil them!
