outdoor movie

The night after the water fight we hosted an outdoor movie.  It was hard to decide what to watch, but we settled on Meet the Robinsons which was perfect!  Most hadn't seen it yet, and I loved hearing the adults and kids laughing!

Water Fight

Our neighbors run a company - Neon Vibe - that does 5K races at night, with "glow in the dark" water.  It's a powder they mix into the water that glows under black lights.  So we decided to have a neighborhood glow-in-the-dark water fight!  My kids loved all the beginning stuff - painting faces, talking, laughing. But they only enjoyed the water fight for a minute :)  Joe on the other hand had a blast!

The day Lily went potty

At the end of last school year I signed Lily up for preschool, hoping it would be incentive for me (and her) to get potty trained.  We kept asking her if she wanted to use the potty, and she would say NO! I don't like potty!  We decided to let her pick a few toys, and told her she'd get it if she started to use the potty.  So one evening she sat on it, did nothing, played, sat, did nothing, and played. And cried because she wanted her toy. Finally she used the potty, got her toy. And the next day she refused at all, even with bribing her with toys. We had to take her out of preschool, so she'll be my buddy for the next year.  And hopefully soon she'll discover she likes using the potty!
