Getting to hold the little girl that's been wiggling inside of me for nine months for the first time!! Giving birth was an amazing, stressful experience (especially the pushing) but well worth the effort. She came out sunny side up, and was having a hard time at the end but made it through ok. She weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz., 19 inches long. October 15, 2010
the new addition - Abigail Kate Chambers
I know many of you have probably been checking the blog for updates ... so here it is. First - who does she look more like? on the left we have Joe, Abigail in the middle, and me on the right. I think it's safe to say she has my hair, at least color wise!

I don't know if you can tell, but after washing her hair, it goes a little curly. She screamed the first time we washed her hair, but seems to enjoy it since then. Love the double chin!!
A smile? We'll claim it. She really has been a good baby. It's stressful trying to figure things out, and I'm grateful for friends and family who put up with phone calls from me! And many million thanks to Joe for putting up with me, and helping me! You're the best & I love you!

what is coming ...

Was that what you were expecting? Maybe not :). Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorite Disney movies, and I am very excited to be able to own it and watch it whenever I want. And hopefully baby girl will like it too! And hopefully baby girl makes her debut soon, but you never know! The hardest part is waiting, and I am not a very patient person. Work has been especially slow, so I sit around all day at a computer trying to distract myself from thinking about when she's going to get here. Joe & I have gotten in to the series Prison Break, and that has provided a distraction in the evening. And we still haven't made up our minds about a name, I didn't think it was going to be so hard!!
A friend gave me this swaddle blanket from JJ Cole, and it is my new favorite thing. It is soooo soft, and I love the pattern. I think we're mostly ready for her to come - can you ever be fully prepared? I don't know. The idea of being a parent it still somewhat overwhelming, but we're looking forward to this next chapter in our lives!

This one is for Pete!
I got home from school this afternoon and feeling in a spontaneous mood we decided to travel to the remote podunk town of Promontory, Utah. It's better know for as the Golden Spike National monument, where they connected the intercontinental railroad. I was fun, don't think that I'd ever been there before and if I have I don't remember. But My mind kept going to my 4th grade field trip to Fort Sutter and my friend Pete who's Loco for Locomotives. I remember buying a fake golden railroad tie on that field trip, and thinking that it was the coolest thing in the world. We wondered around, touched the replica steam engines, and that was about it but it was close to home. I think well worth the trip and I would go again. Anyways enjoy the pics.
